6 Powerful Ways An Author Can Lead Readers To Buy Their Book

Schedule

A few weeks ago I posted the following picture on Twitter with the caption: People buy what they VALUE. Create quality books, engaging social media interactions and blog posts. They all add value!

An author replied to the tweet with this question: But how will they know if what you say has value until they buy it? Great question!

Everything that you do online - from the design of your website header to your interactions on social media - provides incredible value to your readers. Every detail says something and shines a light on the perceived quality of your book.

How Authors Can Blog - Even If They Have No Free Time

Blogging is a subject for which there are many different opinions among writers. Some say you absolutely have to have a blog, others say it’s a waste of time. Some see great success with their blog, while others only hear crickets in response to their posts.

It’s also a question I’m asked at least once a week - do authors need a blog?

WARNING: Facebook Page Likes Could Be Going Away

It won’t come as a big shock to hear that Facebook is, once again, making some changes.

And here it is: Facebook started experimenting with eliminating the total number of likes from Pages. Not deleting them all together, but not displaying them on the Page.

Whether you discover your Page has been effected yet or not, one thing is pretty clear - this change says a lot about Facebook’s attitude towards Page likes.

So what’s the message they are trying to get across?

5 Ways To Make Powerful Connections With Readers Using Digital Marketing [video]

Nothing beats communicating with someone face-to-face. Even those of us who are fierce introverts (myself included!) we were all made for human interaction and personable connection.

An author recently asked me a question that everyone will face as technology continues to advance. She said, “My books seem to do best in person when people can peek through them and meet the author. How do I do better digital marketing to get sales when not face-to-face?”

So I thought I would change things up a bit and do a video blog on this topic.

5 Ways to Significantly Boost Your Pinterest Traffic

About four months ago, I decided to adjust which social media outlets I was going to focus on to connect with my ideal reader. Like many of you, I’ve been frustrated with Facebook and wanted to take a new approach. This included a more concentrated effort towards Pinterest.

On a personal note, I loooove Pinterest! But how we personally use Pinterest is very different than how we use it as an author trying to connect with readers. If you haven’t read my posts on how to promote your book using Pinterest or 10 powerful ways to attract new readers using Pinterest, I’d encourage you to check those out.

But I wanted to go a bit deeper with you and share some very practical and powerful ways to actually boost your Pinterest traffic to see some significant results. This is what I have done with our business and I’ve seen amazing results. And I hope you do as well!

How Authors Can Use Instagram Stories

I have to admit, I was a little leery of Instagram Stories when it was released a few months ago, but it has very quickly become one of my favorite things about Instagram. It’s a great way to get to know your readers as well as bringing you, your books, and your brand to life. And it’s a lot of fun!

If you’re familiar with Snapchat, Instagram Stories is basically the same thing. What’s great about it is that your Instagram Story is only available for 24 hours and then it disappears. So if you’ve ever been concerned about posting too often on Instagram, no need to worry anymore. Stories don’t show up in the feed so readers will make a conscious effort to see what you share, which is very cool.
